CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town broker believed to be part of an international child porn syndicate has made his first appearance in court.

Clinton Culder is charged with being in possession of child pornography.

He was arrested in Fish Hoek this week.

Three other suspects arrested in Pretoria are thought to be linked to an international porn distribution syndicate.

The 45-year-old broker faces charges relating to the production and distribution of child pornography.

He was arrested at his Fish Hoek home on Tuesday.

The State has opposed bail claiming Culder does not have a fixed address as he's likely to move from his Fish Hoek residence soon due to unpaid rent.

The matter has been postponed for further investigation and to allow the accused to meet with his lawyer.

Culder will remain in custody at Pollsmoor prison until his next court appearance next week.
