Twelve-year-old murder suspect released
The boy has been released into the care of his guardians after he was arrested for murder.
CAPE TOWN - A 12-year-old boy has been released into a guardian's care following his arrest in connection with a murder in George.
The child is accused of stabbing a 14-year-old boy to death at the weekend in an argument.
The police's Malcolm Pojie says the youth appeared in court on Monday.
"The person was released in the custody of his guardian in the Thembalethu Magistrate Court after he had been arrested on Saturday with regards to a stabbing incident. Information we were given is the 12-year-old suspect and the 14-year-old were involved in a quarrel, thereafter the 12-year-old took a knife and stabbed the boy in the chest."
