Desmond Tutu is a model patient, says daughter
Mpho Tutu says her father is currently responding well to treatment.
CAPE TOWN - Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu's daughter says her father is a 'model patient'.
Mpho Tutu says her father is currently responding well to a two-week course of intravenous treatment.
She says he is a good patient as he never complains, even when he is in pain.
Mpho says this trait is both a blessing and a curse.
She adds there is no need for panic as the Arch is expected to return home by the end of next week.
A week ago, Mpho said family members were concerned about her father's condition.
"We are of course concerned, but that's concern, not panic about his well-being."
She said although doctors told them her father remained strong; he was taking longer to recover every time an illness hits him.
"The series of treatments that he has had over the years have also had an impact on the elasticity of his body and his ability to come back from an illness."
