All Black Mealamu hangs up his boots
The hooker made his debut in 2002 and has 126 caps in his 13 year international career.
CAPE TOWN - All Black Keven Mealamu will retire after the World Cup. The hooker made his debut in 2002 and has 126 caps in his 13 year international career.
Mealamu will now take up a role as New Zealand rugby ambassador.
He says he didn't retire sooner because he wanted to be part of history with New Zealand.
"Every year we get a chance to look at what lies ahead as an All Black and there was that opportunity of being able to win a World Cup away from home. That hasn't been done before and it really was exciting for me personally to get the opportunity to do that."
