First Lady: Claims about our family are exaggerated
Bongi Ngema-Zuma has defended recent allegations against Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma.
JOHANNESBURG - First lady Bongi Ngema-Zuma says people reading certain claims about her family should take them with a "pinch of salt" and insists they shouldn't believe everything they read in the newspapers.
Her lawyers say those claims are false and defamatory.
During an interview about an event for her foundation, aimed at fighting diabetes, Ngema-Zuma was asked if everyone in her family was alright.
"Some of the things are exaggerated, some of them are true, but the way they are portrayed is exaggerated. Life goes on… We were not made by the media and so we must not be broken by the media."
