CAPE TOWN - Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu remains in a Cape Town hospital.

He was this week re-admitted to an undisclosed medical facility where he's being treated for what's been described as an inflammation.

His family briefed the media on Tuesday to reveal he has again been admitted to hospital.

This time Tutu is being treated for inflammation.

It's his third stint in hospital in recent weeks.

Tutu's daughter, Mpho said, "My mom would much prefer to have him at home so that she can feed him with his favourite foods but she's making the trip back and forth to the hospital."

Mpho said family members are concerned about her father's condition.

"We are of course concerned, but that's concern, not panic about his well-being."

Tutu said although doctors have told them her father remains strong, he's taking longer to recover every time an illness hits him.

"The series of treatments that he has had over the years have also had an impact on the elasticity of his body and his ability to come back from an illness."

The Arch is expected to remain in hospital for at least a few days.

On the previous two occasions he was treated for a persistent infection.

Mpho said her father's current treatment has nothing to do with the prostrate cancer he's been battling over the last few years.

Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu is back in hospital for an inflammation. His daughter reminds us her father is 83 not 38. Sigh. Dear Arch
