Hawks recover 200 tons of gold concentrate in NW
The Investigative Unit received a tip-off about a warehouse believed to be storing stolen gold concentrate.
JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks Investigative Unit has recovered 200 tons of gold concentrate in an operation near Potchefstroom in the North West.
The unit says it received a tip-off about a warehouse believed to be storing the stolen gold, and swooped on the building on Monday.

Spokesperson Hangwani Mulaudzi says they are searching for two known suspects who may be part of a larger syndicate.
"We have managed to track down the mine, which this gold concentrate is coming from. So as we speak now we are still busy with that investigation and we are working closely with the mine. The value of that gold concentrate cannot be determined as yet."
