CT fire leaves over 60 homeless

CAPE TOWN -A blaze that broke out at an informal settlement in the Strand area has left more than 60 people displaced.

Thirty-three shacks were destroyed in the Sunday night fire.

City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management's Charlotte Powell said, "The NGO will provide humanitarian relief, as in hot meals, blankets and clothing and the human settlements department will also provide the residence with fire kits to rebuild their dwellings."

A week ago, 45 people were left homeless after a fire destroyed their homes in Langa.
