JOHANNESBURG - Manchester City showed their willing to regain their Premier League title, when they demolished Chelsea 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.
After a nervy start from Jose Mourinho's troops Sergio Aguero came close with a few clear chances, and would have put the Citizens up earlier were it not for a fantastic competitive debut for new goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.
The breakthrough eventually had to come though, with Chelsea well and truly up against the ropes when Sergio Aguero worked his way around a few defenders before finding the bottom corner.
Mourinho substituted captain John Terry off the field at the break, and replaced him with Kurt Zouma.
The youngster didn't fare much better against the constant threat of City, and Vincent Kompany doubled his side's lead halfway through the second period.
The third goal came for the blue side of Manchester towards the end, when Fernandinho latched onto a loose ball, and sent a rocket of a shot past Begovic from just outside the box.
The loss comes after a controversial week for Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, following his removal of team physiotherapist Eva Carneiro from his team bench.
The Portuguese manager will undoubtedly be looking to bounce back strongly from the loss and controversy when his side takes on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns next week Sunday.
