R2 million ephedrine bust at OR Tambo airport
A Sars customs official discovered the drugs while conducting a random inspection.
JOHANNESBURG - Ephedrine worth around R2 million has been found hidden in ironing boards at the OR Tambo International Airport mail centre.
Sars spokesperson Luther Lebelo said, "This whole package was coming from India into South Africa. We handed the whole pack to the police and investigations continue."
It's the second major bust at the mail centre this week.
On Tuesday about R1 million worth of the narcotic was discovered in a parcel sent from India.
