All but one WC government department receives clean audit
The health department fell short of a clean audit due to questionable performance information.
CAPE TOWN - All but one of the Western Cape government departments have received clean audits from the Auditor-General.
Western Cape Finance MEC Ivan Meyer earlier briefed the media on the audit results for the 2014/2015 financial year.
The auditor-general probed how the provincial government's budget allocation of R48 billion was spent.
Meyer says the results are good.
"The 13 departments have received an unqualified audit results, with 12 of the 13 departments receiving a clean audit in the Western Cape"
Provincial deputy director-general Aziz Hardien says the health department fell short of a clean audit.
"On the financial side, they had no issues. They had issues on the performance information. What that means is that national sometimes provides them with indicators that they need to achieve and they were some issues on the reliability of performance information."
