Taps run dry in JHB’s northern suburbs
Technicians hope to restore water to several suburbs after planned maintenance led to a pipe burst.
JOHANNESBURG - Joburg Water says it is working to restore supply to areas affected by a burst pipe in Houghton and has apologised for the interruptions.
The pipe burst on Wednesday afternoon after planned maintenance in the area.
Joburg Water says technicians are on site and hope to have supply restored by midnight.
Spokesperson David Sibiya said, "The areas affected are Houghton, Rosebank, Melrose, Birdhaven, Killarney, Riviera, Parktown North, Dunkeld and Parkwood."
