Mom says missing girl committed suicide at Northgate Mall

JOHANNESBURG - The mother of a teenage girl who was found dead at the Northgate Mall has told Eyewitness News that she committed suicide.
Fourteen-year-old Klara Göttert's body was found on Tuesday night near entrance four.
Her mother reported her missing earlier in the day when she failed to return home from school.
Liesl Göttert said her daughter's personal notebook revealed how she died.
"She took her life at Northgate Mall. There appears to be a combination of a number of circumstances."

She remembers the last time she saw her daughter.
"Yesterday morning she hugged me and kissed me and I told her that I loved her and I told her to have a fantastic day. She then left home with a big smile."
Liesl hopes other parents pay greater attention to their children.
"We just need to remind ourselves that our children are so special and there are no second chances in life. We just have to open our eyes, ears and hearts and see and hear everything they say and do."
The police are investigating the matter.
