NICD: 2015 flu season worse than before
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases says it’s not too late to be vaccinated against the flu.
CAPE TOWN - The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) said it's not too late to be vaccinated against the flu.
The NICD said the 2015 flu season has been more severe than previous years.
The institute's Cheryl Cohen explained.
"Flu can circulate at moderate or lowest level right until September/October. And so if you fall into one of those risk groups, if you're elderly, if you've underlying disease, if you're pregnant or if your doctor has advised you to have the vaccine, then it's not too late to have vaccine because there's still a possible that you could still pick flu."
