JOHANNESBURG -The chairman of the current school governing body (SGB) at Glenvista High Schoo l says they have yet to receive the full report from the Gauteng education department which found officials guilty of corruption.

The department today laid criminal charges against officials accused of squandering millions of rand of school funds after a forensic investigation found gross financial mismanagement.

While the department says the final figure is still being quantified, officials have estimated roughly R8 million was squandered through maladministration.

Glenvista High governing body chairperson Prince Maluleke said the board had only been given an executive summary of the 320 page report and cannot take any action based on those findings.

"Once we have a full report, we will be in position to understand what the issues are."

But he says the school has already rectified some instances of financial maladministration.

"Most of the issues that were reported were not new issues. They were issues that we knew about and we have already taken remedial action."

He denied that any members of the current governing body are implicated and says individual members of the 2012 - 2014 structure have since left the school.
