Expect a juicy twist on next episode of ‘Idols SA’
Not all 78 Golden Ticket winners will be taking part in Hell Week on 'Idols'.
JOHANNESBURG - Aspiring dreams of becoming South Africa's next Idol will be crushed during a pit stop before the contestants even reach Sun City.
A total of 78 Golden Tickets were handed out at auditions in Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg this year, by the uber-critical judges Randall Abrahams, Unathi Msengana, Gareth Cliff and Somizi Mhlongo.
However not all 78 Golden Ticket winners will be arriving to take part in 'Hell Week', as Idols SA introduces a never seen before twist to season 11 of the reality show.
Another change has been included affecting the 'theatre week' format - previous Idols winner Khaya Mthethwa and Season five runner-up Graeme Watkins are going to step in to give the contestants master classes, based on their Idols experience and work in the music industry.
"The Idols judges have found some incredible talent across the country this season, but during the tenser-than-before 'theatre week' these young singers will have to deliver their absolute best at all times and prove their musical versatility," says M-Net's Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard.
She adds, "As Khaya and Graeme will explain to them, it's not easy being a full-time musician, and we need to make sure that the contestants have the will to succeed against all odds."
At the end of the Idols SA theatre phase, the judges will put forward the names of the contestants who will be singing for the public vote.
Idols SA Season 11 is screened in HD on M-Net and Mzansi Magic during the 'theatre week' episodes.
Channel 199 on DStv will give you a closer look at everything that happened during this tough phase of the competition.
