Police make massive drug busts in the Karoo

CAPE TOWN - Two massive drug busts have been made in the Karoo.

A woman was arrested on Saturday after she was found in possession of dagga with an estimated street value of more than R50,000.

In a separate bust, police searched a truck and found several boxes containing tens of thousands of mandrax tablets valued at almost R3 million.

More than 3 kilograms of tik worth over R1 million were also seized.

Meanwhile, Mthatha K9 Unit arrested one suspect aged 55-year-old for possession of over 5kg of dagga.

Police say the suspect attempted to bribe the officer but the money was confiscated as evidence.

The suspect will appear in court today.
