On duty police officer shot in CT

This is the second attack on an officer in Cape Town in less than a week.

CAPE TOWN - A police officer has been shot near Delft outside Cape Town.

This is the second attack on an officer in the city in less than a week.

Petrus Holz was stabbed to death along the N2 highway last week.

In the latest incident, the police officer was shot while on patrol near the N2 Gateway Housing Project this morning.

The officer was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

The motive for the shooting is unclear at this stage.

Police say no arrest has been made.

Four police officers have been killed in Cape Town and Gauteng over the past week.
