JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg City Parks says it will conduct tests to determine if the Klip River near Zakariya Park south of the city is being polluted with raw sewage.

This follows complaint about a white foamy substance in the river which is occasionally used by faith groups for baptism rituals.

The city's Zarina Motala said, "The cemetery is currently under construction and the manager of city parks and zoo will raise the issue with the construction company and we will send the water department to do further investigation."
