CAPE TOWN - There's still no indication when Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu will be discharged from hospital at the weekend.

The Arch was re-admitted to a Cape Town hospital on Tuesday just a few days after he'd been discharged.

He'd been receiving treatment for a persistent infection.

His daughter Reverend Mpho this week announced her father would spend a few days in hospital, at least until the weekend.

Tutu remains in the care of doctors who have been monitoring him to see what's been causing the discomfort.

So far there's been no update on his health.

Meanwhile, the Arch has had several visitors including former President Thabo Mbeki who paid him a visit on Thursday.

A gleeful Tutu was photographed with Mbeki at his bedside, along with his daughter.

Mpho Tutu said their family is moved by the support they've received from the across the world.
