Dudu Myeni's sacking could save SAA
The SAA board chairperson has been accused of causing skilled personnel to leave the parastatal.
On Monday, the Democratic Alliance (DA) said the way she was interfering in the day-to-day running of the company was leading to skilled personnel leaving the parastatal.
Myeni is currently the chair of the Jacob Zuma Foundation and was accused over the weekend of selling meetings with Zuma for thousands of rands at a time.
At SAA, it's said she's been interfering in operations and insisted on having bodyguards with her during board meetings.
She also made sure all of the board members left their cellphones outside during those meetings.
In the last few weeks, Myeni has been accused of stopping a R2 billion deal with Emirates at the last minute.
And it's been claimed she had now Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba fired from the position of Public Enterprises Minister because he'd shouted at her.
So far Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene has not responded to calls for him to take action as the minister currently responsible for SAA.
Nene is currently in a Cabinet Lekgotla.
But if he does decide to act, he could find himself coming up against the president.
