JOHANNESBURG - Former Jozi FM DJ Donald Sebolai has pleaded not guilty to murdering his girlfriend.

Sebolai, popularly known as DJ Donald Duck, allegedly stabbed Rachel 'Dolly' Tshabalala to death in Soweto in June last year.

She was found dead in her flat.

Sebolai told the High Court sitting in Palm Ridge he is not guilty of killing his girlfriend.

He claims he and Tshabalala had an argument and he was trying to disarm her when she was stabbed.

Police say Sebolai confessed in a phone call to a friend to killing the 32-year-old woman.

The DJ was on the run for over a week after he fled with Tshabalala's car shortly after the attack.

He also faces charges of theft and defeating the ends of justice.
