CAPE TOWN - A woman has been arrested at Cape Town International Airport after she was found with Tik valued at more than R1 million.

The woman arrived in the Mother City from Johannesburg on Tuesday.

She was nabbed when officials searched her luggage.

The police's Frederick van Wyk said, "Yesterday morning members of the anti-drug smuggling team of border police conducted random searches of luggage of passengers who landed at the Cape Town International Airport."

The suspect is due to appear in court later today.

Two weeks ago, cocaine to the value of R7 million was seized at OR Tambo International Airport during a bust by customs officials.

The South African Revenue Service (Sars) said 26,4kg of cocaine was found wrapped in brown tape and disguised as body cream in luggage which originated from Brazil and was destined for London.

The seizure was the biggest discovery of cocaine at the airport to date.
