Muizenberg mugging victim slams police
Tessa Dowlin says police have been very slow in dealing with criminal elements in the area.
CAPE TOWN - A Muizenberg mugging victim has expressed her disappointment with police, whom she said didn't inform her that three suspects had been arrested following a spate of robberies on a beach in the area.
Tessa Dowling was robbed of her cellphone last month.
It's emerged police released the suspected muggers after arresting them, claiming none of the victims were prepared to lay charges.
But Dowling said police have done very little to bring those responsible to book and many people's lives are in danger.
"Everybody is in danger and I think having these kids feeling they can run around and cause terror among the community it's terrible, that they will never be arrested because of a police force that seem uninterested in arresting them."
