CAPE TOWN - Officials in Nelson Mandela's home village of Qunu in the Eastern Cape have already kick started the Mandela Day campaign.

The former president's second-eldest grandson, Ndaba Mandela is leading by example.

Charity-benefiting initiatives have been planned for the next two days as both local and international visitors are expected to descend on Mandela's ancestral home.

Ndaba will be spending his 67 minutes with children at the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital, donating linen, curtains and cartoon-themed wallpaper.

As the slogan goes; "Nelson Mandela fought for social justice for 67 years... You are asked to start with just 67 minutes".

For his part, Arts and Culture Minister, Nathi Mthethwa is this afternoon expected to visit the world-famous Qunu Museum, where he will be interacting with locals.
