JOHANNESBURG - Metrorail has condemned the torching of two trains at the Germiston station.

It's understood angry commuters set the trains alight last night because of delays.

A part of the building at the station was also damaged by the fire.

Metrorail spokesperson Lillian Mofokeng says services in Germiston and Cleveland will be affected.

"The damage is estimated to be over R30 million, which includes a part of a building that also caught fire. We are working closely with the police and our protective service unit to ensure that we monitor and track who the perpetrators could have been."
