JOHANNESBURG - Two South Africans who were part of the recently intercepted Flotilla that attempted to reach the Gaza Strip, will be returning home on Wednesday.

Dr Clint Le Bruyns and Ismail Moola represent the Palestine Solidarity Alliance.

Le Bruyns was on-board a standby vessel, while Moola provided logistical support for three boats and 50 crew and passengers.

The Freedom Flotilla, led by The Marianne, a Swedish boat sailing to Gaza from Greece, was carrying humanitarian goods when the vessel was intercepted by the Israeli military early on Monday morning.

In a statement, the Israeli army said it did not use force in redirecting the main boat Marianne to the Israeli city of Ashdod.

Passengers included Israeli parliamentarian, Basel Ghattas, former Tunisian president Moncef Marzouki, and Spanish Member of the European Parliament, Ana Miranda.

Moola says they were saddened by the interception.

"The boat was boarded peacefully and no casualties were reported."

The pro-Palestinian activists will be arriving at OR Tambo International Airport tomorrow.
