Plett shark survivor recovering

CAPE TOWN - The father of a man who was bitten by a shark in Plettenberg Bay on Monday said his son was making a steady recovery.

On Friday surfer Dylan Reddering, a UTC student, sustained deep lacerations and bite marks after being mauled by a shark off Lookout Beach.

In a separate incident the following day a young man was mauled by a shark in Buffels Bay near Knysna.

He lost his leg in the incident.

Reddering's father, Marty, said he was relieved he survived the encounter.

"Yesterday was the first time up on crutches, he's doing a bit of therapy; it's unbelievable, he's healing so fast"
