CAPE TOWN - Three people have been killed in shack fires in the Cape Peninsula.

Two women and a man died when separate blazes broke out in Nyanga and Phillippi earlier today.

This follows a blaze in Du Noon informal settlement yesterday in which twenty six people were displaced.

Fire and Rescue Services' Theo Layne says police are investigating.

"Early this morning we responded to two incidents of informal settlement fires, one in Philippi, one woman died as a result of that fire. In Kinana, two died, the cause of the fires are undetermined."
