JOHANNESBURG - Slain Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa's father on Tuesday said he's been receiving threatening calls from people he believes are his son's killers.

Sam Meyiwa has lashed out at police saying they're not doing enough to find those responsible.

In return, police have accused him of jeopardising the murder case by speaking to media and releasing information very close to the investigation.

Meyiwa was shot dead at his girlfriend Kelly Khumalo's mother's home in Vosloorus on the East Rand in October last year.

Sam said he fears for his and his family's life and has gone into hiding after receiving numerous threatening calls.

"These people are phoning and saying that they're going to kill me. They say I am talking too much about my son. I'm hiding because now I am afraid for my life."

He said police are not doing enough to find the people who took away his son.

"If I don't talk, nothing will happen."

Meyiwa said he has reported the calls to police, but doesn't trust that they will help him because they're failing to find his son's killers.
