#MissingLion cornered, evades rangers
The lion went missing from the Karoo National Park last Friday after escaping through a hole in a fence.
CAPE TOWN - South African National Parks rangers and trackers have cornered a lion that escaped from a game park in the Beaufort West area.
But it's still managing to evade them.
SANParks' Fayrouch Ludick said the animal is at large.
"The team gave word that they had managed to track the lion down when they went out this morning. It was in a rather tree-filled area and it was not staying out long enough to give them a visual for long enough to be able to tranquilise it and bring it back to the park."
It's taken a helicopter, five vehicles and 20 people to track down the animal.
Last week, farmworkers in Beaufort West were asked to stay home because the lion was still on the run.
Sheep farmers in the area joined the search for the lion but advised employees to stay home.
