Public sector to make decision on wage deal
Public sector unions will this afternoon decide whether or not they’ll withdraw from government’s wage deal.
JOHANNESBURG - Public sector unions are expected to decide this afternoon whether to withdraw from a wage deal after government implemented a lower pay offer, apparently without their knowledge.
Unions said government has now only increased salaries by 6.4 percent.
The ILC's Basil Manuel has accused the employer of being deceitful.
"Subsequently, they've loaded all of these salaries onto the system, and in fact they've started paying out. We're saying that that is completely contrary to what we decided with the employer."
