CAPE TOWN - Bredasdorp community members have warned teenagers are becoming victims because of high-risk lifestyles.

The Overberg town is dealing with another child killing after the murder of 14-year-old Elna Japhta.

Her body was found stuffed in blankets underneath a bed in her 27-year-old boyfriend's home, where she had been living.

In 2013, the killing of 17-year-old Anene Booysen shocked Bredasdorp.

In February, the community marched against women and child abuse after the rape and killing of five-year-old Kayde Williams.

A week ago the town heard of another child murder. Twenty seven-year-old Gift Sabango has been arrested for Japhta's murder.

Community member Chrisna Junius says there are efforts to create healthy extramural activities for children.

"They are not keeping busy here at all we are trying to put things together. We've got the okay to do activities like mini soccer and chess."

Sabango is expected to make a formal bail application in the Bredasdorp Magistrates Court tomorrow.
