12,000 Eastern Cape homes still in the dark due to bad weather
Over 40,000 households were initially affected by the outages on Thursday.
JOHANNESBURG - Eskom technicians are working to restore power to about 12,000 homes across the Eastern Cape who are without electricity due to inclement weather.
Over 40,000 households were initially affected by the outages on Thursday when some overhead pylons experienced faults.
While over half of those homes have been restored with supply, the power utility says it's still experiencing difficulty with other repairs due to bad weather.
Eskom spokesperson Ntombekhaya Mafumbatha, "The weather isn't as bad as it was. There are areas we have been unable to assist but if the weather continues to remain calm, we can proceed until 8pm tonight."
