Two arrested in Lenasia after hijacking goods truck

The men allegedly hijacked a truck carrying R1.5 million worth of electrical goods.

JOHANNESBURG - Two men have been arrested after they allegedly hijacked a truck carrying R1.5 million worth of electrical goods in Lenasia.

Officers responded to a complaint about a suspicious truck parked on a plot near the Golden Highway.

The Johannesburg Metro police Department's Wayne Minnaar says the truck was hijacked in Heidelberg.

"When officers arrived on the scene they found about 10 men offloading boxes from the truck, who fled in different directions. Officers managed to arrest two of the men, one of whom was in possession of a firearm that was used to hijack the truck."
