Emirates Lions claim 27-22 victory over Waratahs
The Lions pulled off a result many had little faith in at the Emirates Airline Park on Saturday.
In their final home game of the season, and with the possibility of a place in the playoffs somewhat within reach, Johan Ackermann's side played one of their best games of rugby this whole season as they outplayed the Waratahs for much of the game.
The home side was on song from the first minute and got their just reward with a try in the fifth minute, from Ruan Combrinck, to set the ball in motion.
Another try from Combrinck and one from Harold Vorster, coupled with some great kicking from Elton Jantjies ensured that the Johannesburg side held on for a morale boosting win.
The win sets up what should be an incredible final game for the Lions against the Stormers in Cape Town next Saturday, as both sides look to cement their places in the top six.
