Petrol price to increase by 47 cents a litre
The price increases are effective from 3 June.
JOHANNESBURG - The price of petrol will increase by 47 cents a litre from Wednesday 3 June, the Energy Department announced on Friday.
The price of diesel will rise by between 46 and 49 cents per litre, while illuminating paraffin will cost 56 cents more per litre.
Liquefied petroleum gas, will in the meantime increase by 100 cents per kilogram.
The Department of Energy says the main reason for the fuel price increase is the high crude oil prices which resulted in higher prices (on average) for all the petroleum products in the international markets in May 2015 compared to April 2015.
