New Nigerian president: Missing schoolgirls must be rescued
Buhari has described Boko Haram as a “mindless, godless group far removed from Islam”.
NIGERIA - Nigeria's newly inaugurated president Muhammadu Buhari has told African heads of state and dignitaries that his country cannot claim victory against Boko Haram without rescuing the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls.
Buhari has described Boko Haram as a "mindless, godless group far removed from Islam".
Meanwhile, African Union (AU) chair Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma has assured Bahari of the African Union's support.
Dlamini-Zuma commended President Jonathan for his statesmanship during and after the election, describing him as a "statesman not in age but in status".
"Indeed, when Nigeria was going through its elections all of us were on tenterhooks because we all wanted things to go well," said Dlamini-Zuma.
She said Nigerians did Africa proud because if things go well in Nigeria, they will go well in the continent.
