Locals from an informal settlement in in East London drained water from a reservoir.
CAPE TOWN - Thousands of households in East London have been left high and dry after locals from an informal settlement drained water from a reservoir.
It's believed residents of Needs Camp informal settlement are protesting against the municipality but it's unclear what they are asking for.
The council's Keith Ngesi says the sabotage is concerning.
"Members of the community drained the reservoir and have emptied it."
Ngesi says the matter has been reported to the police.
