JOHANNESBURG - The man accused of killing three-year-old Cuburne van Wyk has been found guilty of kidnapping and murder.

The High Court sitting in Palm Ridge handed down judgment just a short while ago.

Van Wyk's burnt body was discovered at a dump site after he went missing in August last year

Judge George Maluleke has described Nathaniel Mpoku's version of what happened to van Wyk as blatant untruths.

Mpoku maintained that he never harmed the boy and that instead that child had followed him around begging for biscuits.

Mpoku did however concede that he gave van Wyk the biscuits and that he left him in the care of older children.

But the judge, however, has dismissed this saying Mpoku's alibi was not believable.

Van Wyk's family left the courtroom crying.
