Police confirm Wallacedene missing child drowned

JOHANNESBURG - Western Cape police have confirmed the cause of death of a Kraaifontein boy who went missing is drowning.

Four-year old Bukho Mlityalwa went missing eleven days ago in Wallacedene.

His body was found floating in a dam in the area last Saturday.

He was last seen at a playground near his home.

Police, family and friends had been searching for the little boy for several days before his body was found in a dam.

When Eyewitness News spoke to the child's mother Nokhubonga Mlityalwa yesterday she had still not been informed what had caused her son's death.

The police's Frederick van Wyk said, "It's confirmed, the cause of death was drowning."

Police have opened an investigation into his death.
