Pro surfer Michael February and a cameraman were robbed after a filming session on Sandy Bay.
CAPE TOWN - Pro surfer Michael February and a cameraman were robbed after a filming session on Sandy Bay beach on Friday.
The men were allegedly attacked by panga-wielding men.
The two were injured but managed to fend off the two unidentified attackers.
Surf magazine _Zigzag _reports the surfers were walking to the parking lot when the two men attacked them with pangas.
February was able to walk away from the incident without any serious injuries while cameraman Steven Michelsen had to be rushed to the nearest hospital after suffering a laceration to his forearm.
Several of their belongings were stolen including a cellphone.
Police confirmed a case had been opened.
