Public urged to participate in Eskom tariff hike hearings
The utility has asked for a more than 25 percent hike as it tries to build up its finances.
JOHANNESBURG - The National Energy Regulator (Nersa) has urged the public to take part in hearings on Eskom's latest proposed tariff hikes.
The utility has asked for a more than 25 percent hike as it tries to build up its finances to help deal with ongoing power cuts.
Nersa's Charles Hlebela said a decision on the hike proposals will be made by the end of June.
"The public hearing is open to all the members of the public and if they want to make oral presentations, they are allowed to do that."
