Sars confiscated gold valued at more than R20 million along with stolen copper cables worth R10,000.
JOHANNESBURG - Millions of rands in copper cables and gold have been seized at the Beitbridge border post.
South African Revenue Service (Sars) officials on Monday confiscated gold valued at more than R20 million and stolen cables worth R10,000.
Officials made the bust after stopping a vehicle to search it, that's when its occupants fled on foot.
Sars's Luther Lebelo said, "We are very excited about these guys working very hard and we also appreciate the collaboration we have with the police in the last six months or so we have really strengthened that relationship, last week we got a really big chunk of drugs as well."
