Concerns over police stations that are 'out of operation' during load shedding

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape Department of Community Safety has written to acting provincial police commissioner Thembisile Patekile about claims that some police stations are not equipped to function properly during load shedding.

MEC Dan Plato's office has received complaints that at some stations phone switchboards have been out of operation due to rolling blackouts.

The department's Ewald Botha said. "We have asked for a briefing from the Western cape police management to show exactly what the situation is and how they proceed to rectify the situation."
