CAPE TOWN - Wallacedene residents fear for the lives of their children after a four-year old's disappearance this week.

Bukho Mtilyalwa had been playing with friends at a park just down the road from his house when he went missing on Wednesday.

His parents, community members and Kraaifontein police have been searching for him ever since.

The park where Mtilyalwa had been playing when he was last seen is empty and no children are playing in the streets.

A neighbour of the Mtilyalwa, Johanna Lieben, says the boy's disappearance is a first in this section of Wallacedene.

She said she now fears for her own children's safety.

"Ek sou ook mal geraak het want ek is 'n ma en my hart gaan uit na hulle, regtig." (sic) Translation: [I would have also gone crazy because I am a mother and my heart goes out to them]

Fearful residents said Mtilyalwa's disappearance has shocked them.
