JOHANNESBURG - Speaking to EWN Sport , Bloemfontein Celtic striker and the PSL's current joint top goal scorer Lerato Lamola says he's confident that he will scoop this season's golden boot accolade.

Lamola has scored 13 goals in this campaign but competing with him for the award is Free State Stars' Moeketsi Sekola.

The 28 year old Lamola says he has no control over what his competitor does, but he will make sure he has his hands on the trophy.

"I'm not sure how the game is going to end on that side of Free State Stars but what I can assure you is that I'm going to go all out on Saturday to make sure that I register myself, at least to have 14 to 15 goals."

He says strikers would have higher goal tally if South African football was not so defensive minded.

"I always have a problem with this 'pack the bus' thing. If we can have the same mentality of playing attractive football which is attacking, attacking, attacking. It's always nice to watch Polokwane City playing, I know they are conceding goals but I like the way they attack."

He says the league need not incentivise strikers to score more, it's their job to come up with ways to score.

"I'm not going to say no, PSL must do something about this, it's us the players, and it's us the strikers and the attacking players, not only the strikers. It's us who need to come up with this attacking-minded game."
