City of Cape Town honours fallen firefighters
International firefighter’s day which is being celebrated in Muizenberg.
CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town will honour firefighters who died in the line of duty over the next three days.
The commemoration is part of international firefighter's day which is being celebrated at an event in Muizenberg.
The day is marked across the world on 4 May.
The City of Cape Town's fire and rescue services' Theo Layne said, "We will be having a memorial service today to honour the firefighters that have died, and we will be putting on a display for the general public. We are also assisted by the neighbouring municipalities like Worcester and Breede Valley."
