#TrainCrash: Metrorail guard killed
240 people were injured after a train crashed into the back of another train at the Denver station.
CAPE TOWN - Metrorail has confirmed that one of its guards has died and 240 people have been injured in this morning's train collision at the Denver Station.

ER24's Russell Meiring described the scene that emergency workers encountered when they arrived.
"ER24 paramedics as well as other services arrived on the scene and found the two wrecked trains over the entire train yard. On inspection, paramedics found a multitude of injured patients lying all around the scene. One woman had remained trapped inside the train between a wall and required advanced life support." CEO Mosenngwa Mofi said today's tragedy affected a number of people.
"At this stage 240 have been injured, of which 80 have been released, with two critical and one fatality."
Metrorail, the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), the South African Police Services (Saps) and paramedics are on scene to make sure those caught up in this morning's collision are free from the wreckage and transported to hospital.
Dozens of people can be seen being carried out on stretchers.
Authorities are still trying to determine exactly what went wrong this morning.

Mofi said they have a technical team on site to determine the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Dipuo Peters is expected to brief the media shortly.
