Premier Soccer League weekend wrap
There was some local football action this weekend as the PSL resumed after the international break.
CAPE TOWN - Only two games produced more than two goals as Platinum Stars got a 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town in Rustenburg on Saturday night.
The home team took the lead Robert Ngambi early in the first half as he chested the ball into the net.
Fifteen minutes later Ajax equalised thanks to Erwin Isaacs which saw the team level going into half time.
However the points were not meant to be shared as Cavin Johnson's men grabbed a late winner in the 88th minute with an Ngambi header.
Polokwane City and Wits played to a one all draw. Puleng Tlolane got the home team ahead but the leaky defense of Polokwane City saw them conceed as Henrico Botes got a point for Wits.
Gordon Igesund's Supersport United got a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala stadium.
None other than New Zealand international Jeremy Brockie sealed the win for his team.
Brockie four goals since his arrival to Pretoria.
AmaZulu continue their fight from the bottom as they beat Free State Stars 1-0.
The Durban side are still rooted to the bottom of the log but are now just two points off Moroka Swallows who are in 15th place.
The action ended with Bloemfontein Celtic up against the University of Pretoria. It was the visitors who took the lead in the 20th minute as Denver Mukamba, not long after that Geofrey Massa doubled their lead in the first half.
Celtic weren't going to let their opponents walk over them as Bevan Fransman pulled a goal back early in the second half and Lerato Lamola equalised in the 58th minute.
Despite the fast pace towards the end of the game, both teams got a point.
